Bertelsmann DirectGroup

Bertelsmann DirectGroup is one of Europe's leading booksellers, reaching
customers through a network of direct mail services, clubs and retail outlets in 15 countries. Its brands include Der Club, France
Loisirs, Chapitre, Bertrand and Circulo de Lectores. In 2007, the business was split into two separate divisions, and
DirectGroup's substantial US operations were transferred to Bertelsmann's publishing
subsidiary, Random House. Those units, which included the music, book and DVD mail
order companies Columbia House, BMG Music Service and Bookspan, were later sold, as was the group's UK division Book Club
Associates. As a result, Bertelsmann DirectGroup is now focused primarily on its operations in Continental Europe.
