pharmaceutical company with a growing presence in the US and other international markets. It has bolstered its US presence through
local acquisitions, including Zantac OTC and part of the Fort Dodge Animal Health division. Other key brands include Flomax,
Spiriva and Dulcolax. Worldwide sales were E12.7bn in 2009. The group was founded in 1885 by Andreas Boehringer and was run by
members of the family until the early 1990s. It is still privately owned. Andreas Barner is executive chairman. Advertising
