Jamba (known as Jamster in the UK and US) emerged in 2005 as one of the major global suppliers of multimedia content for mobile phones. Since 2006 it has been a joint venture between News Corporation's Fox Mobile Entertainment division and online services provider VeriSign. News Corp took full control of the business in 2008.
