Procter & Gamble (Japan)

Japan was one of the first Asian markets in which Procter & Gamble established a presence, in the early 1970s. After a strong start, the business suffered numerous reverses during the 1980s, but has successfully re-established itself as one of Japan's leading packaged goods manufacturers. Procter & Gamble Japan was for many years the cornerstone of the company's Far East division, but it has gradually been overtaken in size since 2000 by the group's operations in the much larger and faster-growing market of China.
