The Automobile Association (UK)

The Automobile Association became an independent organisation again in 2004 after five years as a subsidiary of British Gas holding company Centrica. In 2007, the business merged with Saga, a travel and insurance provider specialising in the over-50s market. The AA was the country's first motoring association when it launched 100 years ago, and it remains the UK's foremost supplier of roadside services. The AA also offers a variety of associated services such as insurance, vehicle inspections, travel information and driving instruction.
