Chime Communications (UK)



Chime
Communications is the holding company for the UK's leading public
relations group, Bell Pottinger, as well as other advertising and marketing
subsidiaries. It is
headed by Lord Bell, the PR guru who moulded the media image of the Conservative Party
for much of Margaret Thatcher's political reign during the 1980s. The economic downturn of 2002
hit several of Chime's businesses hard, and the group was forced to
initiate a series of sweeping cost-reduction programmes to maintain
profitability, including the sale of a controlling share in creative agency HHCL.
