COI / UK Government

COI
(or Central
Office of Information as it used to be known) is the main organisation
responsible for commissioning or coordinating public information marketing on
behalf of the British government. It is a body
of non-political civil servants which acts as the client in largescale initiatives between advertising agencies and governmental
departments. Increasingly it advises individual departments on all aspects of communications strategy and operates the main governmental PR function, issuing
press releases and briefings to the media. Click
