Innocent Drinks first snapped up a leading
position in UK supermarkets with its range of lovingly prepared fruit smoothies, and has consolidated it with a range of enormously successful fresh juices. Assisted by quirky and offbeat marketing,
Innocent was one of the country's fastest growing food and drink products during the first decade of the 2000s, and now ranks
among the UK's top 50 supermarket brands. Growth began to slow in 2007, encouraging the company to broaden its
footprint. Vegetable-based ready meals have been a modest success, but the company has enjoyed its most significant additional growth with traditional freshly squeezed orange juice. It has also established a presence in continental Europe. Innocent agreed to sell a minority shareholding to Coca-Cola
in 2009 to raise expansion capital. A year later, the soft drinks giant increased its stake to 58%, and then to full control in 2013.
