Volkswagen Group (UK)


The combined power of its four mass-market brands VW, Audi, Skoda and Seat makes Volkswagen Group the UK's biggest car company by quite some margin. The main VW brand has long been the country's #3 marque behind Ford and Vauxhall. Sales for 2013 were 194,085 passenger cars. The group's other marques also performed well. Audi overtook arch-rival BMW to become the local #4 brand with 142,040 units, while Skoda and Seat contributed 66k and 45k units respectively. An additional 8k units for newly consolidated Porsche took the group's overall share of the passenger car market to 19.9%. In the light commercial segment, Volkswagen held the #2 spot in the light commercial market ahead of Vauxhall for the second consecutive year with 37k units, closing the gap with market leader Ford.
