Acxiom (US)


Acxiom is a leading IT services company which specialises in marketing technology and database analytics. It offers a broad range of CRM-related marketing services including direct mail and digital marketing, as well as more traditional technology consulting and outsourcing, and also identity verification solutions. These services are underpinned by a vast collection of data which provides information on around 500m individuals worldwide and feeds bliions of client relationships on behalf of clients. The company was originally founded in the late 1960s as Demographics, later becoming CCX before adopting its current name in 1988. It has expanded considerably through acquisition both in the US and internationally. One of its many such purchases was of the database marketing operations of rival ChoicePoint Precision Marketing in 2008. Acxiom now has a global footprint, with offices in Europe and Asia as well as the US. Main competitors include Epsilon, Experian, Harte-Hanks, Merkle and other such data brokers. Former Microsoft digital advertising exec Scott Howe replaced John Meyer as CEO in 2011. Worldwide revenues for fiscal 2012 were $1.13bn, including $771m from marketing & data services. Adbrands does not currently offer a business profile for this company but subscribers may access account assignments and contact information.
