Cyrk (US)

Cyrk was at one time a leading US supplier of branded
corporate merchandise. Until 2001, the company was the world's biggest promotional marketing specialist, supplying not just
branded badges, caps and clothing but also sophisticated customer relationship programs for clients such as McDonalds and Philip
Morris. In 2001, the corporate merchandise business was spun off under the Cyrk name and the rest of the company rebranded as
Simon Worldwide. Only a few months later, an FBI investigation revealed that Simon's head of security had been systematically
rigging promotions for more than six years to steal the best prizes. Dropped by its clients, Simon went into liquidation soon
afterwards. Meanwhile Cyrk, backed by private equity investors, struggled to rebuild its own business. It too was
liquidated in 2009.
