Ad Expenditure: US$176.99bn 2015 GroupM Forecast This Year Next Year Dec 2014

The US is the world's biggest and most sophisticated advertising market, and the one in which virtually all aspects of the modern marketing industry were conceived and developed. With estimated ad expenditure of almost $177bn in 2015, it is bigger than the next five countries combined. Inevitably, given its level of sophistication, its industry is divided up into numerous different disciplines. Most advertising agencies also offer a broad range of other "full service" marketing disciplines; others agencies specialise in one or two niche areas; for example healthcare or PR. This ranking includes traditional advertising agencies as well as other businesses specialising in digital, CRM, healthcare, shopper & promotional marketing, PR and other disciplines. Several of these agencies offer multiple disciplines; the main discipline of each of the agencies listed is indicated by the colour code after its name, explained in the key at the foot of the table. Agencies are ranked by US revenues for 2014, estimated by trade magazine Advertising Age.
