The local outpost of SapientNitro is one of Australia's leading creative agencies, producing both digital and creative advertising. Indeed Australia was the spiritual home of the original Nitro business, founded by Chris Clarke. It acquired local advertising agency Cummins & Partners in 2007 before itself being swallowed up by American-owned digital network Sapient, and more recently Publicis. There are now offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, but the agency's profile has steadily diminished in the local industry, despite occasional flashes of brilliance. Adbrands Weekly Update 26th Nov 2015: Ads of the Week: "WE: Crowd-coloured short film". Sometimes it's not just what you do but how you do it. For a new campaign for Cadbury's Dairy Milk in Australia, SapientNitro invited 1,500 ordinary web users to each colour in one frame of this short film using an online palette. (If you were one of them you also get a credit at the end). The drawn story is nice, but what really lifts the film into a class of its own is the amazing crowd-sourced colour design, and those occasional glimpses of graffiti from contributors colouring outside the frames. Fantastic (but watch out for the strobe lighting effects..)
