The local outpost of Publicis is one of Canada's leading creative agencies, with offices in Toronto and Montreal, as well as a more off-the-beaten track location in Windsor. The main Publicis brand is supported in Toronto by creative boutique Red Lion, and since 2014, the local office of acquired digital agency Nurun. A local outpost of Razorfish was relaunched in 2021. Until recently, some of these operations were run as a partnership with group chairman Yves Gougoux, who held a minority stake in the Publicis Canada business as well as 100% of Montreal affiliate BCP, originally the country's first Francophone agency when it launched in 1963. Gougoux surrendered his shares to Publicis Groupe in 2013, but remains group chairman. In 2013, Publicis Canada was incorporated into a new Publicis North America business alongside the former Publicis USA. BCP was absorbed into the existing Publicis Canada structure at the end of 2014. Duncan Bruce is CEO & chief creative officer of Publicis Canada. His brother Andrew Bruce is now CEO, Publicis Groupe Canada and of Publicis Communications Western US. (They are the sons of Dennis Bruce, one of the father figures of Canadian advertising and a former member of Ogilvy's global board). Adbrands Weekly Update 20th Mar 2014: Canadian telecoms and cable group Rogers Communications, one of the country's top advertisers, reappointed Publicis as its lead agency following a three month review contested by seven other agencies. Publicis has held the account for the past seven years, and has now had its brief widened to cover Francophone marketing and other disciplines. Proximity retains CRM. The pitch had particular significance for Duncan Bruce, Publicis Canada's chief creative officer and now president. It was his first without brother Andrew Bruce, promoted to Publicis North America CEO last year. "It was the first time in 15 years I have presented without my brother," he said. "It felt like I was presenting without my right arm."

Adbrands Weekly Update 12th Dec 2013: Publicis Worldwide consolidated its operations in the US and Canada, combining management responsibility for both countries under Andrew Bruce, the former Publicis Canada chief who now becomes CEO of newly created Publicis North America. Previously, the network's US and Canadian offices have reported separately to Paris. Former Publicis USA leader Susan Gianinno becomes chairman, overseeing key global and regional clients. At the same time, Bruce's brother Duncan Bruce, previously ECD in Canada, is promoted to local president & chief creative officer.
