Grabarz & Partner is a leading creative agency in Germany, often featured among the winners at international advertising festivals. It was Germany's single most awarded creative agency in 2015, and is among the country's longest-established independents, founded in 1993 by Andreas Grabarz, until recently still its principal and creative chief. Unlike rivals such as Jung von Matt and Thjnk, both founded by former Springer & Jacoby alumni, Grabarz was comparatively little known when he first launched his shop, but built up a sold foundation with admired work for flagship account Volkswagen, a client since 2001. Grabarz remains the controlling shareholder but day to day management is handled by an eight-person executive board. In fact the business operates two separate units of Grabarz & Partner and Grabarz Zweite, operating side-by-side. The agency is part of the independent international advertising thenetworkone. Adbrands Weekly Update 28th Jan 2016: The Big Won published its creativity rankings for 2015 analysing the most awarded campaigns, agencies and advertisers of 2015. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the three most awarded campaigns overall will be unfamiliar to most industry-watchers. The top two places went to charity ads - German agency Grabarz & Partner's Nazis Against Nazis for ZDK; and DDB Madrid's Holograms For Freedom for political activists No Somos Delito. Third place went to BBDO Malaysia's work for KFC. The more widely known Geico Unskippable campaign by The Martin Agency and Leo Burnett Toronto's Like A Girl for P&G rounded out the Top Five. BBDO captured the prize for top network and top agency (BBDO New York). The other five top agencies were R/GA New York, Grabarz & Partner, Leo Burnett Beirut (a big surprise!) and Adam&EveDDB London (less of a surprise). More here.
