BBDO's Italian outpost is greatly admired within its home market, but perhaps less widely known by the international ad community than its stablemates in the UK or France. The cornerstone of the group's local presence is creative agency DLV BBDO in Milan, with support from offices of integrated agency Proximity and media network OMD. The main agency was founded by partners Maurizio D'Adda, Riccardo Lorenzini and Giampetro Vigorelli in 1997. The trio had previously worked together at Saatchi & Saatchi in Italy during the early 1990s, and later at Y&R. Their start-up was acquired in 1999 by BBDO, and absorbed the network's underperforming local office, which had originally opened in the country in the late 1980s. DLV's three partners departed the company over the next few years: D'Adda in 2003 as a result of ill health, Lorenzini in 2008 and finally Vigorelli in 2011. Several CEOs have overseen the business since then, including Romeo Repetto, appointed at the end of 2014, but arguably the core of the business is formed by creative leaders Federico Pepe and Stefania Siani, joint ECDs since 2008. Adbrands Weekly Update 31st May 2018: Ads of the Week: "Nylon Farm Ep 1". We often bellyache about the beautiful mindlessness of designer fashion and fragrance ads; in most cases they're the epitome of what you might call Zoolander syndrome. However, Prada's promotional films are usually a cut above the rest; not just really really ridiculously good-looking but also with a bit more thought behind them. Here's the latest, a 'Black Mirror'-esque illustration of the processes by which Prada's signature nylon fabric might be created in the very near future. DLV BBDO developed the concept. Here's the first of what will be four 'episodes' being released weekly online. Let's hope the remaining three films live up to the first.
