Amaze (UK)


Amaze used to claim to be the UK's biggest regional digital agency, headquartered in Manchester, although more recently it has moved its head office to London. There is also an office in Liverpool (as well as one in Chicago). The business originated in the 1990s as a technology research unit within Liverpool's John Moore's University before being acquired in 2007 by Manchester-based marketing services group Hasgrove. It merged with three existing Hasgrove subsidiaries, and expanded further with additional purchases including regional shops Underwired and Landmarks. The agency offers a full range of digital services for both regional and national clients. Services include design, search marketing, media and social media, as well as traditional PR. In 2013, Amaze was acquired by printing and publishing services company St Ives for £24m. It continues to operate as a standalone brand within St Ives' marketing services division, but its operations were combined with those of sister units Realise and Branded3 at the end of 2016, prompting the resignation of long-serving leader Natalie Gross. Realise CEO Tony Murphy now also leads Amaze and Branded3. Combined revenues for digital within St Ives' strategic marketing division were £35m in the year to 2016.
