Brothers & Sisters is a London-based creative boutique which joined the UK's top 30 agencies by billings for the first time in 2011 because of its work for satellite broadcaster Sky. It has slipped in and out of the Top 30 ever since. Nielsen (for Campaign) estimated billings of £58m for 2017, placing it at #26 in the ranking despite a fall of almost a third in billings. Declared turnover for 2016 for main corporate entity Brothers & Sisters Creative was £17.4m. The satellite broadcaster remains its biggest client by far, but the agency also has built up a collection of other increasingly significant accounts. Brothers & Sisters was founded in 2007 by Andy Fowler, previously Sky's inhouse creative director, still chairman of B&S and majority owner of the business. Matthew Charlton, former co-founder of BETC London, joined the agency as chief executive in 2014. That year the group also launched its own inhouse production arm, Making. Adbrands Social Media 26th Feb 2019: "I Am Not Afraid". We've not heard too much about Harry Kane since last summer's World Cup. Here's our boy in a striking spot from Brothers and Sisters for Harry's, the privately owned subscription shaver service that competes with Gillette and Unilever-backed Dollar Shave Club. It's a bit heavy on the touchy-feely modern man angle, but we guess that's what it takes these days to win over the young male market. Still, we can't fault that swooping single camera shot and the luminous monochrome photography.
Adbrands Weekly Update 29th Sep 2016: Ads of the Week "Tumbleweed". Here's a brilliant movie pastiche from London indie Brothers and Sisters for cinema advertising mediaowner Pearl & Dean, celebrating some of the unsung behind-the-scenes heroes of old Hollywood. Here, find out how exactly they used to get that tumbleweed to roll across the screen in classic Westerns. It's a lovely idea, and the recreation of the style and tone of old-time movie and newsreel footage is just perfect. Excellent!
Adbrands Weekly Update 22nd Jul 2015: Ads Of The Week: "23 Years & Counting". Some spectacular on-pitch action and equally astonishing digital trickery in the new Sky Sports spot from Brothers and Sisters. Former Arsenal and France striker Thierry Henry accompanies former colleagues, rivals and even himself onto the pitch in a selection of the greatest Premier League goals of the past 23 years.
Adbrands Weekly Update 3rd Apr 2014: Former BETC London chief executive Matthew Charlton, ousted abruptly earlier this year along with ECD Neil Dawson, has resurfaced as CEO of indie shop Brothers & Sisters, best known for its work for satellite broadcaster Sky.
