Goodstuff is a London-based media agency, historically associated with and until recently part-owned by OMD. It was launched in 2004 by two executives from MG OMD as a communications planning specialist, initially to work on the Virgin Media account. It retained close ties with MG OMD for several years, not least in that it worked out of the same premises. However, after seven years as a planning-only business, Goodstuff relaunched as a full-service media agency in 2011, offering buying as well to selected clients. In 2016, it agreed a non-equity alliance to work with what is now Unlimited Group's various marketing agencies. The following year, it moved to new premises, and subsequently bought out OMD's 20% shareholding in 2017 to become fully independent. Campaign picked Goodstuff as Media Agency of the Year for 2012; it took the same accolade from Media Week in 2017, and billings have continued to rise steadily. It is now the UK's second largest independent media agency (after The7Stars). Nielsen (in Campaign) estimated billings of £171m for 2019, up over a third on the year before. In 2019 it collected the Grand Prix at the Campaign Media Awards for a poster campaign for insurer Hiscox, and another at the Media Week Awards for home furnishings retailer Dunelm. Co-founders Ben Hayes and Andrew Stephens continue to run the business. Unusually, they also launched their own investment fund, Startstuff, to back the start-up of other independent agencies. Reported gross profit for 2018 was £10.1m on gross billings of £115m. Net profit was £1.6m.
