Grass Roots is a well-established employee and customer relationship and loyalty marketing agency. Headquartered in the UK, it also has outposts in eight other countries around the globe. Grass Roots specialises in "performance improvement", primarily through incentive and loyalty marketing programmes for employees, trade partners and business customers. It uses a number of different marketing disciplines, but digital is rapidly becoming one of the most significant. The business was founded in 1980 by David Evans, still chairman. Richard Bandell is CEO. It was part-owned for many years by WPP via a large minority shareholding. Those shares were sold back to management during 2016. Total revenues were £260m in 2014. Econsultancy estimated UK digital fee income of £19m in 2014.
