CreativeRace was the new name adopted at the end of 2015 by Leeds-based Gratterpalm, which has spent several years as one of the UK's biggest regional agencies. It offers a broad range of integrated services, primarily for retail clients, from traditional and digital advertising to in-store displays, packaging and out-of-home promotions. It is best-known for a long-standing relationship with supermarket group Asda, for whom it has worked for over 30 years, handling regional advertising and local promotions. Originally established in 1978 by entrepreneur Graham Hill, the agency was bought out in 2002 by a team led by joint managing directors Gordon Bethell and Gareth Healey. The latter stepped down in 2017, and sold his shareholding back to the company, which now descriobes itself as a marketing co-operative. Gordon Bethell remains chairman. Gratterpalm topped Nielsen/Campaign's ranking of the biggest regional agencies for the fifth consecutive year in 2014, before slipping to third place in 2015 with billings estimated at £37m. The agency acquired London-based CRM agency Underwired in 2014, giving it a debut presence in the capital. Underwired rebranded as CreativeRace London. Reported turnover for 2016 was just under £10m with net profit of £884k. Subscribers may access account assignments and contact information.
