Carol H Williams is one of the leading multicultural agencies in the US specialising in the African-American market, with offices in Oakland, Chicago and New York. Advertising Age estimated US revenues of $16m in 2016. The agency was founded and is still led by Carol Williams, who is something of an industry legend. At Leo Burnett in the 1970s, she created the Secret antiperspirant campaign "Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman", as well as the "Say Hello To Poppin' Fresh Dough" campaign that made the Pillsbury Dough Boy a national advertising icon. She was the first black creative director - male or female - in the mainstream US ad industry, and also that agency's first female VP. She subsequently moved to FCB San Francisco before launching her own agency in 1986. In 2017, Carol Williams was the first female black American creative director to be inducted into the Advertising Hall of Fame.
