Hispanic agency Casanova Pendrill adopted the new name of Casanova McCann in May 2016 to highlight its longtime membership of Interpublic's McCann Worldgroup. It offers a full range of creative, media, promotions and PR service. The agency was established in 1984 by Argentinean creative director Viviana Pendrill and Mexican-born Paul Casanova, who had worked both sides of the agency-client divide before ending up at Hispanic agency Mendoza/Dillon. The company grew quickly during the 1980s and 1990s before Interpublic acquired an initial 49% stake in 2000. It then took full control later that decade. In addition to its base in California it has a New York office in McCann's corporate HQ as well as an outpost in Detroit via Commonwealth/McCann to serve Chevrolet. The original founders both left in the 2000s. Puerto Rico-born Ingrid Otero-Smart is now president, with Elias Weinstock as chief creative officer. AdAge estimated revenues of $20m for 2018, putting it among the Top Ten US Hispanic agencies. In 2020, CEO Otero-Smart reacquired a majority stake in the agency from Interpublic, but it will continue to operate as a unit of McCann Worldgroup.
