Conill sits under the umbrella of Saatchi & Saatchi, operating primarily as that network's Hispanic marketing division, though it also handles a few third-party clients as well. The agency's original base in Miami was shuttered in 2015, and it consolidated operations in what was previously its secondary outpost in Los Angeles. An additional office later opened in Dallas as well. It was one of the first Hispanic marketing agencies in the US, originally founded in 1968 in New York by pioneering Cuban marketers Alicia and Rafael Conill to target that city's sizeable Puerto Rican population. Both had experience in advertising in pre-revolutionary Cuba, where they had run Mestre Conill Publicidad before fleeing for the US, where they spent almost a decade working in other agencies before setting up on their own. The American agency was acquired by Saatchi in 1987. For more than a decade, the agency was led by Cynthia McFarlane, later also chairman & CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi Latin America. She left the network in 2015; Carlos Martinez is now president of Conill. AdAge estimated revenues of $41m in 2017.
