Dieste is a leading Hispanic agency in the US, and a unit of Omnicom. Advertising Age estimated revenues of $31m in 2018. Based in Dallas in the same building as several other Omnicom agencies, it also operates offices in two other group campuses in New York and Los Angeles. Although traditionally a specialist in ethnic marketing, the agency has established a reputation for mainstream, non-ethnic ads. Founders Tony Dieste and Warren Harmel first worked together at Omnicom Group's Tracy-Locke Partnership in 1988. They later moved on to rival Hispanic agency Orneles & Asociados, before opening their own shop in 1995 as Dieste Harmel & Partners. Harmel left the agency in 2007 and it rebranded as Dieste Inc in early 2009. Dieste stepped away from day to day management of the agency in 2010 but remains chairman. Greg Knipp, recruited from sister agency Latinworks, took over as CEO. Ciro Sarmiento is chief creative officer. Independent for several years, though affiliated to Omnicom, Dieste sold a minority stake to the marketing giant in 2001 after receiving Advertising Age's first Multicultural Shop of the Year award. It has received that award twice more over the subsequent six years.
