Dieste Inc (US)

Dieste is a leading Hispanic agency in the US, and a unit of Omnicom. Advertising Age estimated revenues of $21m in 2014. Based in Dallas, it also operates an office in New York. Although traditionally a specialist in ethnic marketing, the agency has established a reputation for mainstream, non-ethnic ads. Founders Tony Dieste and Warren Harmel first worked together at Omnicom Group’s Tracy-Locke Partnership in 1988. They later moved on to rival Hispanic agency Orneles & Asociados, before opening their own shop in 1995 as Dieste Harmel & Partners. Harmel left the agency in 2007 and it rebranded as Dieste Inc in early 2009. Dieste remains chairman, although he is part-retired. Greg Knipp joined from sister agency Latinworks in 2010 and is now is CEO. Independent for several years, though affiliated to Omnicom, Dieste sold a minority stake to the marketing giant in 2002 after receiving Advertising Age's first Multicultural Shop of the Year award.
