Golin - known as GolinHarris until 2014 - is the #2 public relations group within Interpublic. Increasingly, though, it is evolving into an all-round integrated communications agency through the absorption of less PR-oriented agencies, such as through-the-line shop The Brooklyn Brothers in 2016. Several other Interpublic agencies also now operate under the overall umbrella of Golin, including mid-sized PR network DeVries Global. Golin has offices in around 40 countries worldwide, including affiliates. It has been honoured several times in recent years with Agency of the Year accolades, many of which reflected its dramatic "G4" restructuring in 2011 which eliminated sector-based practices and several management layers, instead allocating all staff into four categories of strategists, catalysts, creators and connectors. A key component in the latter category is The Bridge, a global network which specialises in real-time social media. Industry watcher The Holmes Report estimated fee income for the group of $245m in 2018, putting Golin just outside the global Top Ten agencies. Around two-thirds of revenues are generated by consumer PR, and another 15% from corporate work. Fred Cook is chairman. Jon Hughes, Matt Neale and Gary Rudnik were appointed as co-CEOs in 2017, in an unconventional triumvirate arrangement. Hughes departed the firm in late 2019 and the three-man structure was abandoned. Matt Neale was named as sole CEO; Rudnik is now president & COO. Founder Al Golin remained chairman until just before his death in 2017. In 1957 he was a junior executive at PR agency Max Cooper & Associates when, with a cold call, he picked up the account for fast-expanding restaurant chain McDonald's. Golin became a partner a year later, eventually taking over the business in 1981. Later renamed Golin/Harris, the agency was acquired in 1989 by Shandwick, and became part of Interpublic a decade later. The agency still handles the McDonald's account, one of the longest client-agency relationships in the PR industry.

The business, which has offices in London, New York and Sao Paulo, will continue to operate as a standalone unit, but will collaborate with Golin on accounts and new pitches.
