Healthcare agency Harrison & Star is one of several operating under the Omnicom Health Group. Although its main offering is traditional professional advertising, the shop also provides offers a range of other services in the healthcare field, including medical education through affiliate Health Science Communications and digital through spin-off unit 22 Clicks. A separate advertising unit was spun off in 2008 under the name BioLumina to handle conflicting accounts. All these agencies operate under the overall umbrella of Medical Specialist Communications group, or MSCG. Advertising Age estimated combined US revenues of $115m in 2018. The original agency was formed in 1987 as Harrison, Star, Wiener & Beitler, and was acquired by Omnicom in 1993. Four years later, co-founder Tom Harrison was promoted to run Omnicom's entire DAS Global group. His business partner Larry Star remained CEO of Harrison & Star until his retirement in 2011. Another founder, Jed Beitler, left to run Y&R's Sudler & Hennessy. Ty Curran became CEO until his retirement in 2018. Mario Muredda is now CEO.
