IN Marketing Services is the main shopper and field marketing arm of Advantage Marketing Partners, a packaged goods specialist with more than 165 offices across the US and Canada. The parent company provides data analytics, business intelligence and merchandising services, while IN executes the ground-level field marketing services via a team of more than 40,000 sales agents. It also offers custom publishing. Other group units offer in-store advertising systems, sampling programmes and outsourcing. Partner marketing agencies within Advantage include multicultural events marketer Eventus, promotional agency Amp and digital shop Blitz. The group has expanded rapid with a series of acquisitions of regional shopper marketing agencies. It was founded in 1987 by Sonny King, then an executive at Vons supermarkets. IN Marketing Services was spun out as a standalone unit in 2000. King remains chairman, with Tanya Domier as group CEO of Advantage. Jill Griffin is president of Advantage Marketing Partners. In 2013, key Advantage client Unilever consolidated its entire US shopper marketing account into rival Geometry Global. Private equity firm Apax Partners sold its majority stake in the business in 2014 to Leonard Green & Associates and CVC Capital Partners. AdAge estimated revenues of $496m in 2015 for Advantage Marketing Partners. Parent Advantage Solutions has revenues of around $1.6bn.
