Selected TM advertising

Until its closure in 2019, TM advertising was an independent creative agency based in Dallas, Texas. Originally a spin-off from the Bozell network, it was at one time - under the name Temerlin McClain - one of the largest full-service agencies in the US Southwest. Acquired by Interpublic in 2001, it retained its standalone status, aligned with McCann Worldgroup. However, performance during the later 2000s was uneven, with the agency becoming increasingly reliant upon cornerstone client American Airlines. That account finally departed in 2015. Two years later, TM's management team, led by CEO Becca Weigman, bought back the agency from Interpublic to become fully independent. Wade Alger was chief creative officer. However, life an an independent was not easy, and the agency suffered a steady erosion of its client base of the following two years.

Adbrands Daiy Update 11th Oct 2019: Dallas agency TM advertising is to close its doors after two tough years as an independent agency. CEO Becca Weigman told Adweek that the closure was caused by a "perfect storm" of client cutbacks. “It's a financial decision. It's a very competitive environment Three of our largest clients reduced their fees tremendously. While we won some new business, we didn't win fast enough."

Adbrands Weekly Update 11th May 2017: Dallas-based TM advertising has bought itself back from Interpublic after 16 years under the wing of McCann Worldgroup. Founded in 1934, the agency later became part of the US Bozell advertising network under the name Temerlin McClain. It changed to TM in 2004. At its peak, the agency was best known for its work for American Airlines, a client for 40 years. However, that account moved on in 2015. CEO Becca Weigman led the buyout from IPG along with four senior managing partners.

Adbrands Weekly Update 29th Oct 2015: The week's most notable assignment was probably the termination of a 32-year relationship between American Airlines and McCann's TM advertising. Interpublic had been pitching to retain the business through the Martin Agency, but instead the account was won by Crispin Porter & Bogusky, with media moving to Mediacom. In other moves, Nikon has quietly transferred US creative from McCann to indie Cramer-Krasselt.
